SWGR seeks to recruit an experienced Hydraulics Engineer, for our client who is a privately owned international drilling company. Our client has a wealth of experience on international drilling operations and is currently carrying out drilling operations on a global basisWe currently have the requirement for a Hydraulics Engineer to work onboard a DP Drillship in the Gulf of Mexico. And we have a further 2 Hydraulics Engineers requirements to work in our clients pool crew on an international basis.The Hydraulics Engineers main responsibilities will include but not be limited to: 1.Maintenance of heavy cranes and derrick (when installed) and other hydraulic deck/drilling equipment 2.Assist if required by the Chief Engineer in other areas of the Mechanical Department. 3.Must be familiar with hydraulic machinery and systems under his control 4.Monitoring performance of hydraulic equipment in operation on a daily basis 5.Daily supervision of all hydraulic equipment power units, tank levels etc 6.Work safely and take responsibility for the safety of fellow crew members. 7.Understand and participate in the STOP system 8.Assist Supervisor in identifying jobs which may require a risk assessment 9.Participate along with Supervisor in risk assessments 10.Hose crimping 11.Comply with the Company Safety Policy and Permit to Work/Isolation Systems 12.Assist with survey work as required by the Chief Engineer 13.Advise the Chief Engineer of spare gear requirements 14.Report any faults to the Chief EngineerRequirements: 1.Time served Engineer 2.Suitable experience as Hydraulic Engineer or Rig Mechanic on Semi Submersible rig or Drillship
